Our aim

We would like to offer our students a course of study with prospects. The aim of the degree programs is to provide students with the special technical and methodological skills and abilities for working with or in the East Asian economic region on the basis of a comprehensive business education.

Students should be prepared for the broadest possible deployment on the global market, initially with a focus on East Asia due to the specific orientation. In view of the long historical tradition of the countries of East Asia and their economic significance for the world market and an increasingly converging world, this seems particularly important.

Course of study

The eight-semester full-time course leads to a Bachelor of Science degree, which is awarded by the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society to graduates majoring in China, Japan or Korea. It can only be taken up in the winter semester of each year. The fifth and sixth semesters are spent at universities in China, Japan or Korea.

  • The first part of the program primarily serves to teach the basics. Here we lay the foundations for success in the rest of the course.
  • Consolidation and development are the purpose of the second study phase, which also includes a one-year stay abroad in China, Japan or Korea.
  • In the third stage of studies, we focus on the implementation of what has been learned. This is where students demonstrate that they have mastered and can implement the content of their studies and are capable of independent and innovative problem-solving.

Career prospects

We want to train socially competent, cosmopolitan and highly qualified business economists who are equipped with an additional qualification for China, Japan or Korea (including language), but who can be deployed worldwide.

About stays abroad

The East Asia Institute cooperates with numerous universities in China, Japan and Korea. All students on the degree programs must complete one year of intensive language training at one of these universities after the 4th semester before they can complete their studies with the 7th and 8th semesters in Ludwigshafen.

Business administration - what is it anyway?

Business administration covers the management, organization and control of companies that produce goods and services. Business administration explains microeconomic activities, which means that commercial activities are at the forefront. The topics are of considerable relevance, for example: Marketing, law, mathematics, tax law, statistics, etc.

Pre-course in math

For the current winter semester, the math pre-course is being held for all first-year students in the full-time business programs. Participation is voluntary, but recommended.

Introductory Week

Before the start of the semester, the introductory week for first-year students of the university takes place. Participation is mandatory.
