Together with the Muslim students of Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (HWG LU), the university chaplaincy invited them to the 3rd interfaith fast-breaking Iftar. The event took place in the Protestant youth church in Ludwigshafen. Almost 70 students accepted the invitation, which was also financially supported by the Studierendenwerk Vorderpfalz. It was a peaceful and cheerful evening. We prayed, ate, played and laughed together. The coexistence of religions worked in exchange and harmony. All conversations and getting to know other customs and traditions took place with tolerance and much interest. After the sun had (finally) set, the meal began with a date. The Koran was quoted in Arabic and German. After the kebab meal, the dessert buffet was particularly rich, which was of course especially challenging for Christian students who abstain from sweet foods during Lent. This year, the Islamic Ramadan takes place at the same time as the Christian Passiontide. Everyone was able to test their religious knowledge in a Kohout quiz and their artistic acting skills in the subsequent pantomime guessing game. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the evening. If the world is full of arguments, here on site, understanding and cooperation worked perfectly.
