With the Human Resource Management & Personnel Psychology (HRMP) Master's degree course, the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society has been offering a specialized study program since March 2026 that combines the business perspective of personnel management with in-depth knowledge of personnel and organizational psychology. The program is primarily aimed at graduates of business or social science degree programs who want to qualify for demanding tasks in modern HR management. It is possible to start the course in both the winter and summer semesters.
The newly designed Master's degree course in Human Resource Management & Personnel Psychology has a practical and interdisciplinary focus and covers key topics such as strategic human resource management, personnel and organizational development, leadership and career aptitude diagnostics. In addition, current developments such as digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence are becoming increasingly important in the HR context. Students apply their knowledge directly in practice-oriented projects and develop solutions for real challenges from corporate practice.
Course structure
The Master's degree course is designed for four semesters and combines a scientific foundation with application-oriented learning. In the first two semesters, students deepen their knowledge of HR-specific and personnel psychology content and acquire comprehensive methodological skills. The third semester is designed as a practical semester or optional semester abroad and provides valuable insights into international or company-related contexts. In the fourth semester, the focus is on a research colloquium and the preparation of the Master's thesis.
Close integration of theory, research and practice
A special feature of the degree programs is the close integration of research and practice: students benefit from the latest scientific findings as well as from cooperation with companies and organizations. This prepares them specifically for complex tasks in human resources work - from personnel selection and talent management to organizational development.
Career prospects
A Master's degree in Human Resource Management & Personnel Psychology opens up a wide range of career prospects. Graduates are primarily qualified to work in HR departments, management consultancies or organizational development. In addition to specialist positions, management positions are also open to them, as they have both strategic thinking and a deep understanding of human behavior and motivation.
Study requirements
Prospective students should have a relevant first degree (e.g. in business administration, business psychology or related disciplines) with at least 50% business studies and an average grade of 2.7 or better. In addition to an interest in personnel management-related and personnel psychology issues, a high level of commitment to acquiring methodological skills is also expected. The Master's degree program in Human Resource Management & Personnel Psychology can be started in both the winter and summer semesters. Applications for the next winter semester 2026/27 are possible from mid-May to mid-July.
