The start-up office 's new format "Lunch & Launch: Ask the tax office" met with a great response from students and those interested in starting a business.
Two representatives from the Ludwigshafen tax office gave a practical overview of the most important tax aspects for founders in a compact keynote speech. The focus was on the main types of tax such as income tax or corporation tax for corporations, trade tax, VAT and wage tax. The small business regulation was also explained in a comprehensible manner.
In addition, the speakers outlined the process from business registration and guided the participants through the key points of the questionnaire for tax registration. They explained in which cases a VAT identification number is required and gave valuable tips on advance payments, deadlines and how to avoid typical mistakes.
The open question and answer session, in which numerous individual concerns of the participants were clarified, was particularly noteworthy. The open and approachable manner of the speakers was particularly well received, which helped to dispel any fears of contact with the tax office.
The most important advice from the experts was to contact the tax office at an early stage.
All in all, "Ask the tax office" was an extremely successful and informative event that gave participants confidence in their start-up plans.
