In the HAInet Nursing Science Group, there will be a change in the moderation of the “Alumni of Nursing, Health, and Therapy Programs and Health Professions (USH)” section: After many years of dedicated service, Prof. em. Dr. Marga Ingeborg Thome is handing over the moderation role to Prof. Dr. Esther Berkemer.
Prof. Dr. Esther Berkemer is a professor of nursing science at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society. Together with Prof. Dr. Christine Auer and Eva Martinovic, she will take over moderation of the specialist group and thus continue to foster networking and professional exchange within the group.
This transition marks the end of a long era. Prof. em. Dr. Marga Ingeborg Thome has guided and shaped the specialist group for many years with great personal dedication. During her academic career, she held the first chair in nursing science in Iceland and was appointed the first dean of the Faculty of Nursing Science at the University of Iceland.
Her many years of dedication to the specialist group and her outstanding contribution to the development of nursing science deserve special recognition. The HAInet Group extends its heartfelt thanks to Prof. Emerita Dr. Marga Ingeborg Thome for her many years of leadership of the specialist group and her commitment to German-Icelandic exchange. Looking beyond borders opens up new perspectives on care, education, and research in nursing science in this country.
Prof. Dr. Esther Berkemer looks forward to continuing to shape the professional group’s future together with Prof. Dr. Christine Auer and Eva Martinovic, and in particular to deepening German-Icelandic collaboration in nursing science.
