HWG LU at EurOMA 2026: Prof. Hamann-Lohmer Represents the University in Vienna

Ludwigshafen, July 2026. Represented by Prof. Jacob Hamann-Lohmer, the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (HWG LU) participated in the prestigious EurOMA Conference (European Operations Management Association), which took place at the Vienna University of Economics and Business at the end of June 2026. The international conference brought together academics and industry professionals from around the world to discuss current challenges in operations and supply chain management.

The focus of the conference participation was Prof. Hamann-Lohmer’s research paper titled “Coordinating the production network. Evidence from Industry 4.0 and digital technology adoption.” The presentation examined how the implementation of Industry 4.0 concepts and digital technologies is transforming the management and efficiency of complex production networks. The empirical findings met with keen interest from the international audience of experts and sparked lively discussions.

Beyond her own presentation, Prof. Hamann-Lohmer made extensive use of the conference to engage in professional exchange and expand her international research network. “Dialogue with colleagues from around the world makes it clear: the digitalization of production networks is a global issue. International scientific networks are essential for providing sound support for these developments,” said Prof. Hamann-Lohmer. The insights gained in Vienna will now be directly incorporated into education and future research projects at HWG LU.
