Sustainability as a success factor in corporate management

In the winter semester 2025/26, Karun K. Kohli, Partner at PwC Germany, showed in Prof. Dr. Manoj A. Gupte's lectures on corporate management at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society that sustainability and economic success are closely linked today. ESG is not a "nice to have", but can - if implemented correctly - be a key driver of corporate value.

Specific practical examples were used to illustrate how sustainability aspects play an important role, particularly in corporate transactions. From the careful analysis of ESG factors to the positioning of a company on the capital market and integration following a takeover, sustainability issues can make a targeted contribution to reducing risks and tapping into additional value potential.

It was particularly valuable for the HWG LU students to experience how closely modern corporate management, sustainability and strategic decisions are interlinked today.

Many thanks to Karun K. Kohli for the practical guest lecture and the open insights into current transaction practice.
