The HealthCare teaching unit (Bachelor of Health Economics and Master of Healthcare Management) at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (HWG) is expanding its network: two new strong partners have been acquired in the form of the DRK Kreisverband Worms and St. Marien- und St. Annastiftkrankenhaus Ludwigshafen. This further strengthens the close links between the university, practice and the region.
The degree programs combine academic training with practical experience and prepare students specifically for specialist and management roles in the healthcare sector. The degree programs have a broad network of cooperation partners from various areas of the healthcare sector. These include institutions from the fields of hospitals, health insurance companies, healthcare networks and doctors' practices, the pharmaceutical industry, consulting and digital health, nursing, medical technology, associations and other organizations. This diversity gives students a comprehensive insight into the various sectors of the healthcare industry.
Motivation of the cooperation partners
The new cooperation partners want to actively counter the shortage of skilled workers and attract qualified young professionals at an early stage. At the same time, the cooperation enables tailor-made training and strengthens the regional development of skilled workers.
The Worms District Association of the German Red Cross also sees this as a great opportunity: the aim is to pass on the enthusiasm and values of the German Red Cross to students and introduce them to the many facets of the healthcare sector. "We are looking forward to accompanying young, motivated people on their professional path and at the same time adding new impetus to our district association," says Florian Edinger, District Managing Director of the Worms GRC.
The expansion of the network is also an important step for the health economics team: "Strong practice partners are essential for the quality of a dual degree program and increase the attractiveness of our offer," emphasize the course directors Prof. Dr. Eveline Häusler and Prof. Dr. Elke Raum.
With the expansion of the network, HWG LU is sending a clear signal for practice-oriented training and the sustainable recruitment of specialists in the healthcare sector.
