Impulses for an age-appropriate museum

As part of the "Experimental & Apparative Methods" course, Prof. Dr. Edith Rüger-Muck (course director) and 17 students from the second semester of the International Marketing & Psychology (IMP) master's degree program visited the Hack Museum in Ludwigshafen on 17 April 2026.

At the beginning, curator Theresia Kiefer guided the group through the exhibition rooms and provided exciting insights into the concept and work of the museum. The students then took on the perspective of older visitors: With the help of age simulation suits and special glasses that simulate various forms of visual impairment, they tested the accessibility and user-friendliness of the exhibition.

The aim of the project is to develop specific recommendations for action in order to align the museum even more closely with the needs of older target groups and promote an inclusive visitor experience for all age groups.
