Data protection information for eduVPN
The Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (HWG LU) informs eduVPN users in accordance with the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation EU 2016/679, GDPR) and the Rhineland-Palatinate State Data Protection Act (LDSG) as follows:

3. processing purposes and legal bases
The HWG LU processes personal data of students who register for eduVPN for the purposes of education (teaching and research).
The legal bases are Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. e, para. 3 GDPR i.V.m. § Section 3 LDSG, Section 67 (6) of the Rhineland-Palatinate Higher Education Act (HochSchG).
4. categories of personal data
As part of the provision of eduVPN access, the HWG LU processes the following categories of personal data of users: Last name, first name(s), e-mail address(es), login name (user name and/or "LU ID") and organizational affiliation (students, lecturers, etc.). The transmitted attributes can be displayed in the login window by activating the option "Show the information to be transmitted so that I can refuse to pass it on if necessary".
5 Data source and forwarding of data
HWG LU only processes the personal data provided by you during registration. Your personal data will not be passed on.
6. storage period and data deletion
HWG LU processes and stores the personal data of users for 90 days or until the self-generated certificate expires.
7. rights
The GDPR provides for various rights for "data subjects". Accordingly, you have the following rights with regard to your personal data:

- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) or erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)

- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
