- Broadcasting fee exemption from the time of application: Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to wait for the notification of benefits under BAföG in order to be exempted from the obligation to pay fees. If you want to secure your entitlement to exemption from fees from the beginning of your grant period, a "precautionary application for exemption" is required (see homepage below). If the GEZ has such an application, the proof of exemption (BAföG notice) can be submitted later without any disadvantage to the applicant.

- KfW-Studienkredit: Program start on 1.4.2006: The KfW-Studienkredit serves students to finance their living expenses during their first degree. A maximum of 650 EURO per month over 14 semesters is possible. Combination with other subsidies such as BAföG or education loan is also possible here.
