This course teaches the basics of German Sign Language. On the first evening there will be a short introduction to the history and culture of deaf people, exercises on non-verbal communication and the finger alphabet. The following days will focus on Vocabulary on the topics of greetings, personal condition, hearing status, colors, months and other situations typical of everyday life as well as the grammar of simple statement and question sentences, initial localization of signs in space, describing people, name signs and numbers. At the end of the course, a simple conversation with deaf people will be possible. The working material will be distributed in class. Prerequisites: none |
