House rules of the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society
The Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society has adopted new house rules, which have been in force since 06.06.2025. These house rules govern the use of the university buildings, the associated facilities and the university's virtual rooms.
The house rules are binding for all members of the university as well as for visitors and include, among other things, regulations on
- the opening hours of the buildings
- the use of parking spaces and circulation areas,
- the safety and conduct regulations within the university,
- domiciliary rights and the associated powers.

1 To whom do the house rules apply?
The house rules apply to all members of the university and other persons who are on the premises, in the buildings or facilities of the university, including rented or rented rooms and the virtual room.
2 Who has the domiciliary rights and how are they exercised?
The President of the university has the domiciliary rights. It has been transferred in writing to the following persons, who act as domiciliary rights officers:
- the Vice-Presidents
- the Chancellor,
- the head of house administration within their area of responsibility,
- the management of the various Departments and central facilities within their area of responsibility
- the management of courses in the room in which the course takes place,
- chairing meetings of collegial bodies of the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society and its committees.
These persons are authorized to issue instructions to maintain safety and order.
3. what are the opening hours of the buildings?
Buildings A, B and C are open Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 20:00, Saturdays from 07:30 to 20:00 (except in August, closed on Saturdays). Other buildings have their own opening hours, which are displayed in the buildings.
4. how do I apply for an exception to use the rooms outside opening hours?
Exceptions must be requested in writing from the property management(facilitymanagement@ 8< SPAM protection, please remove >8 hwg-lu.de) at least one week before the desired date.
5. who is allowed to use the parking spaces and what do I have to consider when parking?
Parking spaces are provided for members and visitors of the university. Vehicles may only be parked in the designated areas. Vehicles parked without authorization will be towed away for a fee.
6 Who do I report damage, faults or malfunctions to?

7 What rules of conduct apply to safety and order on the university campus?
Instructions from the house rules officer must be followed. Cleanliness must be maintained, windows must be closed when leaving the rooms and personal belongings must be stored safely.
8. is smoking allowed on campus?
No. There is a comprehensive smoking ban in all buildings, including e-cigarettes.
9. which activities require a permit and how do I apply for a permit?
Permission is required in accordance with § 7 of the HWG LU house rules:
- Displaying notices and posters
- Distributing printed matter of any kind
- Carrying out collections, surveys and elections
- Organizing events
- Setting up information and sales stands and selling and distributing goods
- Image and sound recordings for commercial purposes
- Bringing animals into buildings
- Keeping buildings and rooms open at extraordinary times

10. may I bring animals and what should I bear in mind?
Animals may only be brought along with a permit (exception: assistance dogs). In order to obtain permission, proof must be provided that the dog owner has dog liability insurance, that the dog has been vaccinated and that the dog poses no danger. Dogs are not permitted in lectures.
11. how do I deal with lost property?
Lost property must be handed in to the property management, stating the date and place where it was found. After four weeks, unclaimed items will be disposed of or, in the case of official documents, forwarded to the issuing authority.
12. what are the consequences of violating the house rules?
Violations may result in warnings, expulsions, the termination of events or, in serious cases, a ban from the premises. Criminal prosecution is possible.
13. how is the house ban issued and what does it mean?
A ban is issued by the President and means that the person concerned is no longer permitted to enter the university grounds.
14 Who is responsible for property management and how can I contact them?
Property management is handled by the "Facility Management" department and can be contacted by e-mail at facilitymanagement@hwg-lu.de.
15 How do I deal with noise pollution or soiling?
Noise pollution and soiling must be avoided. Avoidable soiling and stickers on surfaces are prohibited and attention must be paid to cleanliness.
16 How do I behave with regard to the use of technical equipment?
Technical equipment must be handled properly and with care. Unauthorized tampering is prohibited and will be prosecuted.
17 What regulations apply to the parking of bicycles and vehicles?
Vehicles and bicycles may only be parked in the designated areas. Vehicles parked without authorization will be towed away.
18 How does the reporting and processing of lost property work?
Lost property must be handed in to the property management, and inquiries should also be directed there. After the retention period has expired, the items will be passed on.
