House rules of the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society

The Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society has adopted new house rules, which have been in force since 06.06.2025. These house rules govern the use of the university buildings, the associated facilities and the university's virtual rooms.

The house rules are binding for all members of the university as well as for visitors and include, among other things, regulations on

  • the opening hours of the buildings
  • the use of parking spaces and circulation areas,
  • the safety and conduct regulations within the university,
  • domiciliary rights and the associated powers.

We ask all university members and guests to observe and comply with the house rules in order to ensure safe and orderly coexistence.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

The house rules apply to all members of the university and other persons who are on the premises, in the buildings or facilities of the university, including rented or rented rooms and the virtual room.

The President of the university has the domiciliary rights. It has been transferred in writing to the following persons, who act as domiciliary rights officers:

  • the Vice-Presidents
  • the Chancellor,
  • the head of house administration within their area of responsibility,
  • the management of the various Departments and central facilities within their area of responsibility
  • the management of courses in the room in which the course takes place,
  • chairing meetings of collegial bodies of the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society and its committees.

These persons are authorized to issue instructions to maintain safety and order.

Buildings A, B and C are open Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 20:00, Saturdays from 07:30 to 20:00 (except in August, closed on Saturdays). Other buildings have their own opening hours, which are displayed in the buildings.

Exceptions must be requested in writing from the property management(facilitymanagement@ 8< SPAM protection, please remove >8 hwg-lu.de) at least one week before the desired date.

Parking spaces are provided for members and visitors of the university. Vehicles may only be parked in the designated areas. Vehicles parked without authorization will be towed away for a fee.

Instructions from the house rules officer must be followed. Cleanliness must be maintained, windows must be closed when leaving the rooms and personal belongings must be stored safely.

No. There is a comprehensive smoking ban in all buildings, including e-cigarettes.

Permission is required in accordance with § 7 of the HWG LU house rules:

  • Displaying notices and posters
  • Distributing printed matter of any kind
  • Carrying out collections, surveys and elections
  • Organizing events
  • Setting up information and sales stands and selling and distributing goods
  • Image and sound recordings for commercial purposes
  • Bringing animals into buildings
  • Keeping buildings and rooms open at extraordinary times

Animals may only be brought along with a permit (exception: assistance dogs). In order to obtain permission, proof must be provided that the dog owner has dog liability insurance, that the dog has been vaccinated and that the dog poses no danger. Dogs are not permitted in lectures.

Lost property must be handed in to the property management, stating the date and place where it was found. After four weeks, unclaimed items will be disposed of or, in the case of official documents, forwarded to the issuing authority.

Violations may result in warnings, expulsions, the termination of events or, in serious cases, a ban from the premises. Criminal prosecution is possible.

A ban is issued by the President and means that the person concerned is no longer permitted to enter the university grounds.

Property management is handled by the "Facility Management" department and can be contacted by e-mail at facilitymanagement@hwg-lu.de.

Noise pollution and soiling must be avoided. Avoidable soiling and stickers on surfaces are prohibited and attention must be paid to cleanliness.

Technical equipment must be handled properly and with care. Unauthorized tampering is prohibited and will be prosecuted.

Lost property must be handed in to the property management, and inquiries should also be directed there. After the retention period has expired, the items will be passed on.
