Premiere of the company day in Ludwigshafen a complete success

Cooperation project between HR management students at the university, pupils from the Max Planck Gymnasium and the business community now also established in the immediate vicinity.

Following on from the successful "Company Day" model in Speyer, the event has now been extended to Ludwigshafen in the winter semester 2023/24.

Under the scientific and practical direction of IPO course director Prof. Dr. Claudia Kohl (Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society) and careers and study orientation coordinator Michael Möbius (Max-Planck-Gymnasium Ludwigshafen), 80 upper school pupils and 32 HR management students spent an exciting and instructive day at various companies in Ludwigshafen on 16 November 2023, where they practised conducting job interviews.

The students took on the role of the company's HR manager and conducted job interviews based on application documents previously submitted by the students for an internship, apprenticeship or dual study program. Following the interviews, the students gave the applicants feedback on their documents and the interview. The students also received feedback from observing company representatives. The event was rounded off with a joint final discussion at the HWG Ludwigshafen. Ms. Sina Klinger from Bechler IT-Systemhaus summed up the day as a complete success: "A great format for transferring the theory of career orientation into practice. The day was very beneficial for everyone and we would do it again at any time."

The participating companies included Bäcker Görtz GmbH, Bechtle IT-Systemhaus, Reinhard Kissler Energiemontagen GmbH & Co. KG, Klinikum Ludwigshafen, Lebenshilfe für Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung Ludwigshafen/Rhein e.V., LUKOM, Polizeipräsidium Rheinpfalz, Stadtverwaltung Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Technische Werke Ludwigshafen am Rhein AG (TWL) and HWG Ludwigshafen (HR department) itself.

Claudia Kohl and Michael Möbius would like to thank all the groups involved for their great commitment and look forward to holding the next company day in Ludwigshafen in November 2024.

In addition to conducting the job interviews, students and pupils were also able to get to know the companies during guided tours
