Project management:Prof. Dr. Bareis and Ms. Reinhard
Project duration:09/2014 - 02/2015; follow-up application:03/2015 - 08/2015.
Project description:

Interculturality and diversity in teaching at the Department of Social and Health Services - Survey of the status quo as a possible starting point for the development of a coherent concept.

For the past two years, the department has had on the agenda of various committees to elicit the current situation with regard to interculturality and diversity in the degree programs and to discuss a common attitude and offering structure of the department.

The focus here is less on the composition of the student body, which we already know for our department is very heterogeneous in terms of the diversity key points mentioned below. Rather, the focus is on the question of which diversity-related topics appear where and how in the curricula and in the everyday teaching-learning situation "" .

It is planned to survey the status quo and existing ideas through interviews with teachers and students in winter semester 2014/15.

For the 2015 summer semester, it is planned to evaluate the interviews by entering them in a previously prepared topic matrix and to discuss the results in the committees of the department.

Target groups:All students. Faculty and majors in the Department of Social and Health Services.
Diversity dimensions:Diversity in teaching with reference to gender, ethnicity, class or social origin, educational background, disability, and age.
