  • Participants:
All students at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society are eligible to participate in the photo contest.
  • Entry Period: October5 through November 1, 2026 (submissions must be received by 11:30 p.m. on November 1)
  • Awards Ceremony: The date will be announced at a later time.
  • Submission of Photos:
All participants may submit a maximum of 3 photos. The photos must be taken with a camera that has a resolution of at least 12 MP. Most cell phone cameras meet this requirement. The original file must be submitted as a JPG, TIFF, PNG, or RAW file to prevent data loss. The winning photos will be printed on DIN A1 paper and exhibited at the university. This is why we require this level of quality. Submitting AI-generated photos is not permitted. For example, the “Open Camera” app saves photos directly as PNG files. Converting from JPEG to PNG results in significant data loss. Therefore, photos should be saved directly as PNG, TIFF, or RAW files whenever possible.

The photos must be submitted by the deadline along with the image submission form (Download Image Submission Form) to Seafile. You can request the link from Gabriele Baldauf (diversity@hwg-lu.de).

  • Copyright and Usage Rights:
By submitting images, participants confirm that they are the sole copyright holder of the photo—that is, that they took the photo themselves—and that the image is free of third-party rights.
  • Rights of publicity—the right to one’s own image:
If individuals are recognizable in the photos, a statement must be included confirming that you have obtained the consent of the recognizable individuals depicted for the publication of the photographs. An exception may apply in the case of public events or if the groups of people are not the focus of the image (see § 23 of the German Art Copyright Act). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Gabriele Baldauf (diversity@hwg-lu.de).

We recommend that you obtain a written declaration of consent from the individuals depicted (Download Consent Form).
  • Rights of Use:
By participating, you grant HWG LU the right to use the photographs you submit free of charge. You confirm that HWG LU may store, reproduce, and make your photos publicly available for non-commercial purposes for an indefinite period. The photographer’s copyright remains unaffected by this. Publications will include your name.
  • Personal Data:
Personal data will be processed and stored to the extent necessary for conducting the contest. By submitting your photos, you consent to the publication of the provided data (name, date, and title of the submitted images).
