FDM Scouts

An RDM scout works at each university to build up expertise and identify the needs for RDM. They are the point of contact for researchers and provide general or individual advice on RDM in the context of a specific application project. The scouts are contact persons for researchers on the following aspects of RDM, among others:

  • Requirements of third-party funders for RDM (FAIR)
  • Preparation of an RDM plan or a data management plan
  • RDM concept in the application
  • Guidance on the legal aspects of RDM
  • Data management
  • Long-term archiving and open access

  • Creating discipline-specific, low-threshold training, advising, and information services.
  • Communication of existing FDM services (tools, databases, repositories, consulting and information services)
  • Individual and comprehensive consulting and support in subject-specific concerns
  • Exchange with NFDI consortia

Project management and coordination

The project management is located at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences and coordinates the activities and the achievement of the set goals of the collaborative project. She networks the project with other FDM initiatives nationwide and with the consortia of the National Research Data Infrastructure. She is available to answer general questions about the project and is the contact person for collaborations and networking.
