External quality requirements

External quality requirements in particular also play a role in quality assurance and development at the university. The German accreditation system provides for a regular review of the university's study programs, in the case of the University of Applied Sciences within the framework of program accreditations.

The legal foundation of the accreditation system is formed by the "State Treaty on the Organization of a Joint Accreditation System for Quality Assurance in Study and Teaching at German Universities (State Treaty on Study Accreditation)" and the so-called model legal regulation of 07.12.2017. The state of Rhineland-Palatinate has implemented the regulations in state law in the state regulation on study accreditation of 28.06.2018. The specifications serve to ensure a "minimum quality" of the study offer defined in this way and are thus part of quality assurance.

In the area of evaluation, the university cooperates with the Hochschulevaluierungsverbund Südwest (HESW) or Center for Quality Assurance and Development (ZQ) of the University of Mainz as the managing body of the HESW. Evaluation processes and evaluation instruments are regularly coordinated with the HESW / ZQ.

Regular (re-)accreditations of the university's study programs by the Accreditation Council represent an important element for external feedback on the success of quality assurance and development, especially in the study programs, and provide helpful impulses for further development.
