Petra Schorat-Waly is happy to provide advice and support to employees with severe disabilities who have questions or problems. The office is an honorary position that is subject to confidentiality. There is no separate office or fixed office hours. You can make individual telephone appointments or online sessions (e.g. Zoom, MS Teams) at or describe your concerns by e-mail.

The Severely Disabled Representative Council is the representative body for people with a severe disability. It is elected by the severely disabled employees at the university.

The rights and duties of the Severely Disabled Representatives are essentially regulated in the SGB IX. These include: the consultation on the places of in-company training (§ 155 SGB IX); control and monitoring functions with regard to norms that work in favor of severely disabled people (§ 178 SGB IX); the right of initiative for measures that serve severely disabled people (§ 178 SGB IX); the receipt of suggestions and complaints (§ 178 SGB IX); the duty to inform the employer in all matters affecting severely disabled persons (§ 178 SGB IX); the right to inspect files, if the representative of severely disabled persons is consulted (§ 178 SGB IX); the right to participate in an advisory capacity in all meetings of the staff council and the occupational health and safety committee (§ 178 SGB IX) and support in applications for the determination of a disability (§ 178 SGB IX).
