Senate
The Senate shall be responsible for all matters of concern to the university as a whole.
Among other things, it shall, by a majority vote of its members
- to enact and amend the basic regulations,
- to elect the President and the Vice-Presidents,
- to enact the enrollment regulations and the regulations for the use of central facilities,
- to comment on regulations for university examinations, doctoral and post-doctoral regulations and significant amendments to these regulations,
- to decide on the establishment, modification, abolition and organization of academic institutions and operating units and on general principles concerning the distribution of posts and funds,
- to appoint the members of the university board of trustees to be proposed by the university,
- to comment on the proposals of the departments for the appointment of professors and the appointment of honorary professors,
- decide on the establishment, modification or discontinuation of courses of study in connection with the determination of admission figures,
- decide on plans for the advancement of women,
- to receive the annual report of the president
- to draw up and adopt the overall development plan of the university.
The Senate shall be composed of at least the President as presiding member, one member of each department from the group of university professors, and members of the groups of students, academic staff and non-academic staff with voting rights.
