A team of researchers from the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences (HWG LU) received the Best Paper Award at the international Cross-Cultural Business Conference. Prof. Dr. Stephan Weinert, Prof. Dr. Edith Rüger-Muck, Prof. Dr. Elmar Günther and Prof. Dr. Gerhard Raab submitted aarticle on the topic of employer branding.
The team's contribution is based on a comprehensive joint research project in which the professors investigated the extent to which guest lectures by company representatives affect the perceived attractiveness of employers from the point of view of prospective university graduates and which factors essentially make up a good guest lecture.
The international Cross-Cultural Business Conference, attended by academics from around the world, was hosted this year by the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria in Steyr, Austria.
In view of the internationally very renowned scientific environment, the delegation from HWG LU was very pleased that the contribution from Ludwigshafen was awarded the Best Paper Award as the best scientific article: "A great success and an incentive for the future, which shows that research at the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences enjoys a high status," said Prof. Dr. Stephan Weinert, who accepted the Best Paper Award in Steyr on behalf of the team of scientists from Ludwigshafen.
What is employer branding?
Companies are competing for outstanding personnel. In order to prevail over the competition, they must position themselves as an attractive employer. How this can be achieved is part of what is known as employer branding. This is where the two disciplines of human resource management and marketing meet and complement each other. In this respect, it was somewhat appropriate that a group of scientists from the Marketing and Human Resource Management Department at the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences should combine their expertise.
