Deutschlandstipendium 2021/2022: 40 scholarships from 19 sponsors

The Deutschlandstipendium has been in existence for 10 years, providing outstanding students with 300 euros per month for a period of one year - half of which is financed by the federal government, the other half by private donors. Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences has been involved in the Germany-wide scholarship program for just as long, and in the 10th anniversary year of the program, or the 50th anniversary year of the university, it is pleased to report a new record number of scholarships and scholarship sponsors awarded: yesterday, 40 students at Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences received the coveted Deutschlandstipendium in recognition of their outstanding academic and volunteer achievements. Many of the current 19 sponsors were present at the festive handover in the university's auditorium.

This year, 185 students applied for the Deutschlandstipendium. The 40 selected scholarship recipients received their funding certificates from the hands of university president Prof. Dr. Peter Mudra on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021. The monthly scholarship of 300 euros gives the students more financial freedom to concentrate even better on their studies.

In his welcoming address to those present, Mudra paid great respect to the scholarship recipients and emphasized how important it is to support people who, despite social commitments and private challenges, manage their studies with a great deal of willingness to perform. "The Deutschlandstipendium is a very good instrument to further encourage the scholarship holders in what they do," said the president.

On behalf of the scholarship holders, President Mudra expressly thanked the sponsors for their commitment and the financial resources provided: "Without you, the Deutschlandstipendium would be inconceivable. After all, it is you who support the scholarship with 150 euros per month and thus, together with 150 euros from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, provide the total amount of 300 euros," Mudra made clear.

Fortunately, the number of sponsors at HWG LU is growing steadily. This year, 19 sponsors are supporting the students:

  • MLP Finanzberatung SE,
  • Lotto Foundation RLP,
  • Meininger Publishing House,
  • Karl Joseph Wagner Foundation,
  • University Council of the HWG LU,
  • Förderverein Gesundheitsökonomie an der HWG LU,
  • Equality of the HWG LU
  • Association of Friends and Sponsors of Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences
  • HR Consulting GmbH,
  • Sparkasse Vorderpfalz
  • Schloss Wachenheim AG.
  • sebena Naumann e.K.,
  • MOSTER Elektrogroßhandelsgesell. mbH
  • TRANSFORM8 GmbH
  • BASF
  • Diakonissen-Stiftungs Hospital Speyer
  • as well as three private sponsors.

Following the official part, both the scholarship holders and the sponsors present had the opportunity to exchange ideas in an initial discussion. This was taken up very actively. Over champagne and tasty snacks, the recipients were also able to celebrate their Deutschlandstipendium together with family members and friends.
