According to a study by the CHE Center for Higher Education Development, which for the first time analyzes the development of dual studies in all 16 German states, dual studies in Rhineland-Palatinate remain on course for growth. Since its beginnings in 2008, the number of courses has quadrupled to 74. Likewise, the number of dual students has increased, currently standing at around 3,500.
According to the CHE analysis, the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences is one of the most sought-after universities in Rhineland-Palatinate for dual students. Looking at the distribution of all dual students in Rhineland-Palatinate, the university in Ludwigshafen, with a share of 19.57 percent, occupies an excellent second place after Koblenz University of Applied Sciences and ahead of Trier University of Applied Sciences.
At the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences, dual studies have a long tradition: The bachelor's degree program "International Business Administration" (at that time still called International Business Administration in Practice), which started in 1995, was the first training-integrated degree program in Rhineland-Palatinate, and the degree program "Health Economics in Practice" can now also look back on a success story of almost twenty years. Currently, seven dual Bachelor programs are offered in Ludwigshafen:
