Focus on people: "Wagner Family Award" presented for the sixth time

In a ceremony on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, three outstanding theses at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society were awarded the "Wagner Family Award". The awarded theses show how professional activities can consider and support people. Monika Dumler, Anna-Lena Gerdon as well as Alicia Schneider and Carolin Adam received this year's sponsorship award, which is endowed with a total of 3,500 euros, from the hands of the donor, Dr. Dieter Wagner, and his family.

Since 2014, and now for the sixth time, the Wagner Family Award has been presented at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society: With this award, the donor family around the long-standing chairman of the university council and honorary senator Dr. Dieter Wagner honors bachelor's and master's theses that deal with values and ethical-social behavior in social contexts in a scientifically sound manner. The award once again highlights the broad spectrum of socially relevant topics being worked on at the university. On Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at a ceremony hosted by the Department of Marketing and Human Resource Management, this year's "Wagner Family Sponsorship Award", worth a total of 3,500 euros, was presented to Monika Dumler, Anna-Lena Gerdon, and the author team Alicia Schneider and Carolin Adam.

This year's first place, with prize money of 1,500 euros each, went to two winners: Monika Dumler from the International Marketing Management master's program and Anna-Lena Gerdon, a graduate from the Social Work bachelor's program. Dumler convinced the jury with her master's thesis, supervised by Philipp Piroth, on the subject of "CO2 emissions of the last mile in online grocery trade", as did Gerdon's bachelor's thesis "Demenzdörfer - Zum Für und Wider einer Freiheit in Umfriedung. Current considerations for social work with the elderly", supervised by Prof. Dr. Arndt Götzelmann. Third place, endowed with 500 euros, went to the author duo Alisa Schneider and Carolin Adam from the degree programs in Health Economics in Practice for their bachelor thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Elke Raum, on "Human Papillomaviruses (HPV) - Associated Diseases, Preventive Possibilities and Potential Access Routes to HPV Vaccination."

The "Wagner Family Award" is awarded annually and is aimed at graduates from all four departments of the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society. This year's jury included Prof. Dr. Elke Raum, Prof. Dr. Harry Müller, Dieter Ott, Prof. Dr. Andreas Rein, Rev. Dr. Günther Geisthardt, Dr. Dieter Wagner, and students Tamara Tag and Irina Chzhao.
