It is with sadness that we bid farewell to Visiting Professor William L. Murray of San Francisco, who passed away on September 10, 2022, at the age of 82.
Prof. William L. Murray was the first visiting professor at the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences. From 1978 until his retirement as a "full professor", he worked at the University of San Francisco in the USA. In addition, he was active as an independent consultant in the fields of "Corporate Planning and Financial Strategy".
From 1997 on, he taught the lecture "Financial Economics" in the diploma program "International Business Administration in Practice", later in the program "International Business Administration" (IBA) and in the program "International Business Administration and Information Technology" (IBAIT).
Likewise, he took over the lecture Finance for the MBA program of the Transatlantic Institute in cooperation with the University of West Florida in Pensacola for several years.
In 2015, Prof. William L. Murray was awarded the University Medal of the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences during a ceremonial act. In total, he worked for the Ludwigshafen School of Business and Society for 17 years.
The Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences will keep his name and his work, and above all his pioneering spirit with regard to internationality and cosmopolitanism, in very appreciative and honoring memory.
