In silent memory
The Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society mourns the loss of Prof. Dr. Georg Remmert Ludwig Koch, Honorary Professor at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society.
On April 10, 2025, one day before his 85th birthday, Prof. Dr. Georg Remmert Ludwig Koch passed away peacefully.
With his passing, we have lost a highly esteemed practitioner, passionate educator and committed shaper of university life.
Prof. Dr. Koch taught employment law at our university with great dedication until the winter semester 2023/24 and played a key role in shaping the development of Department II "Marketing and Human Resources Management". His specialist focus on collective employment law and his extraordinary commitment to the practical orientation of education made him a role model for generations of students and colleagues. Professionally, Prof. Dr. Koch worked for the employers' association PfalzMetall until 2003, where he rendered outstanding services to shaping employment law practice.
His work at our university extended far beyond education. He was highly committed to the development and constant promotion of the East Asia Institute and the Neustadt an der Weinstraße Wine Campus. He was also actively involved in shaping university life through numerous university initiatives, including the Professors' Hiking Day, which he helped to shape and which is still a living tradition today.
In him, we have lost not only a wise advisor and energetic supporter, but also a warm-hearted person who always placed cooperation and community at the center of his actions.
We bid farewell in gratitude and silent remembrance.
