On 15.10.25, a special lecture opened the children's university semester 2025/2026 of the HWG LU. Together with the Initiative Lokale Agenda 21 Ludwigshafen (ILA 21 LU), the HWG LU welcomed almost 60 children to the topic "Advertising - entertaining and informative or manipulative?".
Dr. Anna-Maria Uhrig, Programme Manager on the Bachelor's degree course in Business Psychology, worked with the young students to expose surreptitious advertising and hidden pressure tactics and raised awareness of the need to take a closer look and question even funny, colorful images.
At the end, everyone was able to get creative themselves and advertise a great new chocolate.
Following this exciting topic, the Local Agenda 21 Ludwigshafen initiative hosted the graduation ceremony for this year's Children's Future Diploma in the new HWG LU building: In a fitting university setting, 33 young graduates received their awards and, of course, a graduate's hat.
Representatives of the institutions and facilities that had offered workshops for the Children's Future Diploma were also on hand to join in the celebrations.
As an added bonus, guest students were also allowed to attend this special children's university event and diploma ceremony - parents, grandparents, friends and siblings sat in the stands and got a taste of university life.
The unanimous verdict of the evening was: "super good".
The regular children's university continues on 12.11.25 with an exclusive insight into the world of winegrowers and vineyards. The next round of the Children's Future Diploma will start in May 2026.
The lectures are a joint initiative of the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Science and Health and the state's universities.
