On December 3, the auditing firm EY was a guest at our university and held the Audit Challenge case study competition together with Prof. Dr. Birgit Angermayer. The competition on accounting issues in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) has already been offered in previous years and has now taken place again for the first time since the coronavirus break.
EY representatives Michael Hällmeyer (Partner), Laura Delizia (Partner), Christian Mnich and Kevin Baumgartner accompanied the competition and were on hand to answer students' questions as part of a presentation about the auditing firm and its services for students.
In teams of three to four people, the participants first worked on a practice-oriented case study. While their solutions were being corrected, they were given exciting insights into the field of auditing. After the evaluation, three winning teams were awarded attractive prizes.
The winning team, which included Luka Abbentheren, Amalie Wandernoth, Lea Marie Zielske and Dennis Zifcak, received Dunlop paddle tennis rackets. The second-placed students were delighted to receive JBL headphones and the third-placed students JBL loudspeakers.
The subsequent get-together with snacks and drinks led to many lively discussions. The event format was very well received by the students and once again offered a valuable combination of theory and practice.
