Congratulations to the 12 MBA graduates of the Transatlantic Institute

Congratulations to the 12 MBA graduates of the Transatlantic Institute

During a graduation ceremony on the campus of the University of West Florida on June 18, 2005, the 12 German graduates of the Transatlantic Institute's MBA program were awarded the academic degree of "Master of Business Administration (MBA) in General and International Business". Over a period of 22 months, the participants of the Transatlantic Institute's Executive MBA Program in cooperation with the University of West Florida (UWF) completed a total of 10 challenging management courses taught in English. Nine of the ten courses were taught by professors from the University of West Florida and other AACSB-accredited U.S. universities in Ludwigshafen. The final capstone course, Strategic Management & Policy Formulation - the highlight of the program - was taught both in Ludwigshafen and over a three-week period on the UWF campus in the United States.

Program graduates include Anke Allmann, Claudia Arfeller-Gehlbach, Xiaoqun Clever, Jutta Herrmann, Christian Lechner, Nicola Leonetti, Joachim Mayer, Torsten Riess, Peter Seider, Michael Spaeth, Roman Waibel and Jochen Werling.

"The Germany program promotes diversity and global perspectives in three innovative ways: an international teaching and learning experience for UWF business faculty; an active learning study abroad opportunity for part-time MBA students from the Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach campuses; and a capstone experience that brings the Germany MBA cohort to Pensacola for a three-week interactive learning experience with students and faculty at UWF," commented Tim O'Keefe, UWF director of the MBA program.

The Transatlantic Institute's Executive MBA program in cooperation with the University of West Florida is a hybrid program. Three elements of different learning situations and methods are integrated with each other: seminar-based instruction at the institute, virtual and Internet-based learning phases, and self-directed learning. These forms of learning also allow people with changing work locations and varying workloads to participate in the program. The systematic planning of the courses, as well as the amount of learning involved, make it possible to complete the program while working full time.
