Approximately 20 applicants are admitted each semester. 

IHRM is a Master's program with restricted admission. This means that the content-related criteria, such as proof of English, are checked by the department, or more precisely by the head of the program. The formal examination (including the correctness and completeness of the application documents) is then carried out centrally by the Student Service Center (SSC). Subsequently, the applicants are selected.

The study places are allocated 80% via NC and 20% via waiting list. 
The cut-off date for the calculation of waiting periods is the date of the Bachelor's degree certificate. Each half year counts as one waiting semester. 
Waiting semesters do not count as waiting semesters:

• Additional enrollments in Bachelor's or Master's degree programs.
•  Waiting periods prior to the first successful graduation.

Two ranking lists are created, one according to NC and one according to waiting semesters. All applicants are considered in both rankings. NC ranking: here the 1st criterion is the grade, the 2nd criterion is the waiting time. In the waiting period ranking list, the criteria are taken into account in exactly the opposite way.
