4th Rhineland-Palatinate Office Day 2020 at Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society

The 4th Rhineland-Palatinate Office Day 2020 was held under the motto "The assistance of tomorrow - How do we master the new challenges". On March 4, 2020, secretaries and assistants from all colleges and universities in Rhineland-Palatinate met at HWG LU to receive new incentives, information and knowledge in the four workshops offered. For the workshops we could win lecturers who understood very well how to pass on their knowledge and experience to the participants. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Martina Müller/Workshop on Rhetoric, Silke Eilers/Workshop on Age-Related Work, Ilse Page/Workshop on Intercultural Competence and Annika Vorwerk/Workshop on Data Protection for their very well organized workshops. It is also thanks to them that our Office Day in Ludwigshafen received largely positive and appreciative feedback.

In a keynote speech in line with the topic, Silke Eilers presented the participants with the new challenges facing the future job profile of a secretary/assistant. In her remarks, she showed how important it is - also in the field of assistance - to learn lifelong in order to be able to cope with the changed requirements and challenges.

The Minister President of Rhineland-Palatinate, Malu Dreyer, showed us a special appreciation. In her video message, she made it very clear how important it is to have good and motivated employees in the front offices of management. Minister President Dreyer thereby made it clear that our profession is an important building block for good leadership work by superiors and that we are also indispensable in the age of digitalization.

During the breaks, the participants could inform themselves at two booths. On the one hand, we were able to win Tammy Bieth from the Techniker-Krankenkasse. She provided important information and tips on health in the workplace. Furthermore, David Norde from the company Aktiv Trading Deutschland GmbH presented new and innovative products in the field of office organization. Both booths were very well visited. We would like to thank both exhibitors very much. Their presence also made the 4th Rhineland-Palatinate Office Day 2020 a good event.

Finally, we would also like to thank all those who contributed behind the scenes to the success of the event. This includes the Facility Management department, without whose support the Office Day would not have run so smoothly. Last but not least, we would like to thank the staff of the Mensa. Thanks to their help, the participants were able to enjoy a delicious lunch in a lively exchange. In the end, we - the secretaries' network of the university - would also like to thank the university management. They supported us from the idea to the realization of the event.

We - the secretaries' network  of the university - had a lot of fun preparing and carrying out the Office Day. We are proud of the successful event that we held so successfully as a team.
