Good response to University Info Day 2023

On Saturday, May 13, 2023, HWG LU invited students to its "University Information Day" (HIT) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the campus in Ludwigshafen-Mundenheim. At the same time, the university-affiliated Graduate School Rhein-Neckar (GSRN) also held its "Continuing Education Day" there. Well over 400 visitors took advantage of the opportunity to find out about the entire range of courses on offer, from Bachelor's and Master's programs to part-time MBA programs, and to get to know the joint campus of HWG LU and GSRN.

The best opportunity to get to know the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences was offered to prospective students at the University Information Day (HIT) on Saturday, May 13, 2023, on the campus in Ernst-Boehe-Straße.

The four departments provided information about the total of more than 40 degree programs with a focus on business administration, social sciences and health care. The East Asia Institute, the Neustadt Wine Campus, the General Student Committee (AStA), the GSRN, the Behavioral Science Research Laboratory and the International Office also presented themselves. The StudierendenServiceCenter provided advice on application modalities and admission requirements. In addition, the agenda included introductory lectures, informational presentations, campus tours, a meet-the-students lounge and a colorful accompanying program. The refectory, cafeteria and library were also open so that visitors could get a comprehensive picture of the university. And the new building, which is expected to be ready for occupancy in the fall of 2023, could already be seen, at least from the outside or at the poster exhibition.

This year, the new bachelor's program in business psychology met with particular interest: more than 70 interested people listened to the information lecture by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Raab and Prof. Dr. Klaus Blettner on the presentation of the program, which will start for the first time in the winter semester 2023/2024. The 19-year-old Julia also came specially from Mannheim across the Rhine for this: "I am studying business psychology in the first semester at a private university, but the change to a state university would be very interesting". She could well imagine transferring to Ludwigshafen, she explained. Her friend Liv has already landed a place at HWG LU and will start the dual bachelor's degree program in International Business Administration in the winter semester. "I wanted to take a look at the campus before the semester started," she said, adding, "I like the family atmosphere and that everything is so close together." Metin was also taken with the HIT and the range of advice on offer: the student from Baden-Württemberg was interested in studying logistics in Ludwigshafen and received extensive advice about the various options at HWG LU - from the normal to the dual bachelor's to the consecutive master's, MBA or distance learning - at the information stand of the Management Department & Consulting.

A nice highlight was also the meet-the-students lounge in the outdoor area, which was offered for the first time: here, prospective students could casually get into conversation with students over cold drinks and snacks - an offer that was gladly accepted: "Can you recommend the university?" "Is it easy to get through?" "Do you manage to work as a student trainee alongside your studies?" "What about internships?" "Are there modules in companies?" - were just some of the questions, as reported by Benedikt Lüth, master's student in business informatics, and Jamaica Pablo, social work student and active in the AStA.

Anyone who missed the 2023 Info Day can find out more at www.hwg-lu.de or on the landing page for prospective students: All important information for prospective students is summarized compactly at https://lust-aufs-studium.hwg-lu.de/.

Applications for the winter semester 2023/2024 are possible for most study programs until July 15.
