New master's program "Innovative Care Practice in Nursing and Midwifery" starts in the summer semester

At the Department of Social and Health Services, a new master's program in nursing and midwifery will start in the summer semester of 2021 under the direction of Professor Dr. Regina Brunnett. Application for the accredited program is possible until the end of January via the university's application portal.

Starting in the summer semester of 2021, the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society will offer a new master's program in nursing and midwifery under the title "Innovative Care Practice in Nursing and Midwifery." The newly accredited program, led by Professor Dr. Regina Brunnett, is aimed at graduates of dual bachelor's degree programs in nursing and midwifery or related degree programs. The competencies acquired in the Bachelor's programs are expanded and deepened in the consecutive Master's program in a practice-oriented manner. The program is designed as a 4-semester full-time program; in the elective area, students can choose  between "Aging" and "Pregnancy, Childbirth, Postpartum, Lactation and Early Childhood". The core of the master's program is a one-semester practical project in a health care facility or in the company of a freelance midwife. The university accompanies the practical project, which is designed as an internship, with professional support and offers for reflection. The program concludes with a Master of Arts (M.A.) and qualifies students for subsequent doctoral studies.

"The Master's program 'Innovative Care Practice in Nursing and Midwifery' is application-oriented and geared to the complex requirements in a dynamically developing professional field. Against the background of increasing quality requirements, the establishment of new tasks for the professions of nursing and midwifery and the associated need for cooperation as well as interdisciplinary and inter-professional collaboration, the study program  aims to enable students to recognize the current and future challenges in nursing and midwifery care as well as the need for and potential for change in health care institutions, and to develop, test and implement suitable concepts. One focus is on the qualification for cross-sectoral care design," explains program director Professor Dr. Regina Brunnett.

Also university president Professor Dr. Peter Mudra shows itself pleased about the start of the new study program: With the master study program ?innovative supplying practice in the care and in the midwifery?  comes to our health Portfolio now a further important offer , which advances the university for economics and society Ludwigshafen as health emphasis of the federal state government again a large piece , so Mudra.

An application for the accredited program is possible until the end of January 2021 via the university's application portal:
