Around 80 representatives from five Rhineland-Palatinate universities of applied sciences met at Mainz University of Applied Sciences on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, for the kick-off event of the transfer alliance "EMPOWER - Living Cooperation and Shaping Innovation".
The aim of the newly founded transfer alliance, which includes Mainz University of Applied Sciences, Mainz Catholic University of Applied Sciences, Bingen University of Applied Sciences and Worms University of Applied Sciences in addition to the University of Applied Sciences (HWG LU), is to promote the research-based transfer of ideas, knowledge and technology with business and society in the Rhine-Main-Neckar region, particularly in Rheinhessen and the Vorderpfalz.
In terms of content, EMPOWER focuses on five megatrend topics, each of which is supervised by a participating university: Connectivity (Mainz University of Applied Sciences), Health (Mainz Catholic University of Applied Sciences), Sustainability (TH Bingen), Cyber Security (Worms University of Applied Sciences) and New Work (HWG LU). The three structural transfer formats Innovation Lab, Competence Center and New Venture serve to work on current and future issues in pilot projects in order to develop practical solutions. Cross-university events are intended to promote the visibility of the transfer alliance, particularly in the Rheinhessen/Fore Palatinate region.
EMPOWER is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the "Innovative University" initiative.
