Internationalization at the HWG
Internationalization is a dynamic, multidimensional process that influences all core areas of the university system and responds to global, international and supranational developments. We want to systematically and sustainably intensify the integration of international and intercultural perspectives and, to this end, carry out a large number of cross-border activities in which all university members are involved.
At the heart of our internationalization process is the Erasmus+ program and the mobility options it enables for all university members. This goal is inextricably linked with
- a welcoming and supportive culture that accepts and integrates international students: LUBS at a glance
- with internationally oriented and compatible study programs in German and English
- with internationally oriented research and transfer projects
- with the simultaneous consolidation and expansion of the international partner network on the basis of responsible and future-oriented cooperations
The internationalization strategy of our university includes worldwide university cooperation. Motivated by subject-specific, niche-oriented degree programs, regional focuses have developed in Asia (Japan, China, Korea), Eastern Europe and Russia as well as in the countries of the Western Balkans, Central Asia and the Caucasus. An exciting article by the Head of the International Office, Kerstin Gallenstein, on our Balkan cooperation was published in the DAADeuroletter in December 2023 (p. 28/29).
The Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society has also been actively maintaining intensive contacts on the African continent for around 4 years. The university maintains student and research-based teaching staff exchanges with the two Maghreb states of Morocco and Tunisia as well as with sub-Saharan countries such as Uganda.
