The university mourns the loss of Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Beißner

It is with great sadness that we have received the news of the death of our colleague of many years, Karl-Heinz Beißner.
We have so many unspeakable things in common with him. His work at our university was characterized by a passionate commitment to education, research and practice-oriented transfer.
Karl-Heinz Beißner was a remarkable pioneer in the field of dual degree programs in Rhineland-Palatinate. His innovative strength and passion in exemplary teamwork were decisive for the implementation of the first dual degree programs in Ludwigshafen, from which two very successful programs have since grown. With great enthusiasm, he cultivated international cooperation and the global networks he had built up over the years.
Karl-Heinz Beißner was tirelessly committed to the university for decades in numerous self-administration offices and for the university in education, with a particular soft spot for continuing education.

He was highly regarded by students and staff as a professor who always sought and established links to practice and was respected for his clear and humane attitude. It was a great pleasure to work with him as a colleague. He provided me personally, as well as many other newly appointed colleagues, with valuable support.
For me, Karl-Heinz Beißner was always a very special person who, with his modest attitude, needed so little for himself, but gave so much for his students, his team and the university.
The university in Ludwigshafen owes him an extraordinary amount.

All of us who knew him will keep Karl-Heinz Beißner in honorable memory.
Our thoughts are with his wonderful family, to whom we wish much strength in these difficult hours.
We are very sad, but equally grateful to have had Karl-Heinz Beißner in our midst for so many years. In these fast-moving times, this is what can and will be perceived as a treasure.
