The Department of Social and Health Care at Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (HWG LU) has a new dean: Prof. Dr. Peter Rahn, a qualified social pedagogue, qualified educator and professor of social work science, was elected to the position of dean at the Department Council meeting on April 16, 2025. Prof. Dr. Lena Loge, Professor of Social Work and Diversity, and Prof. Dr. Armin Leibig, Professor of Nursing and Health Professions Education, will support him as Vice-Deans for the next two years.
Peter Rahn, Lena Loge and Armin Leibig succeed the theologian Prof. Dr. Hans-Ulrich Dallmann, long-standing Vice President of the HWG LU (2008-2019) and Dean of the Department since 2021, and the two Vice Deans Prof. Dr. Monika Greening, Professorship of Midwifery Science, and Prof. Dr. Andrea Lutz-Kluge, Professorship of Aesthetic Education/Aesthetic Practice in Social Work. The team led by Hans-Ullrich Dallmann had continued the dean's duties on an interim basis beyond the actual term of office of three years.
"The University's Executive Board would like to congratulate the current office holders on their election and wish them all every success and all the best in their new roles. We look forward to continuing to work together! At the same time, we would like to thank the predecessors very much for their many years of dedicated and successful work and their valuable contributions to the development of the Department and the University during this time," said University President Prof. Dr. Gunther Piller on behalf of the Executive Board.
