Organize your own events
Events organized by students at the university
Do you have ideas for an event at the university? Whether it's sports, a gaming tournament, a movie night or a waffle sale - we look forward to hearing your ideas!
Of course, we welcome events that are part of courses, but we also welcome completely self-initiated events.
What do you get out of it?
Maybe more than you think at first:
🎯 You learn how to implement a project from A to Z.
🧠 You strengthen your organizational skills - teamwork, time management, communication.
🤝 You have fun in a team and meet new people.
🚀 And in the end, you have created something that lasts - for you and for others.

Inspiration
Eat cake and do good

Five BIP students from Professor Mustafa Canbolat's MBA course have organized a bake sale on the HWG LU campus with sweet commitment and lots of baking enthusiasm, with all proceeds going to the Tafel Ludwigshafen food bank. The idea behind it: Spreading everyday joy and helping others in the process.
The sale of brownies and cookies, marble cake, apple and cheesecake as well as banana bread, muffins and cinnamon buns raised an impressive 270 euros within a short space of time. The entire sum was donated to the Tafel Ludwigshafen, which helps people in need in the region.
The project shows that you can also do good with a delicious piece of cake.
Kick for a cause

How do you combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience? MBA students asked themselves this question as part of the "Project Management" lectures led by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Canbolat. By organizing a charity soccer tournament, they not only demonstrated their project management skills, but also made a valuable contribution to a good cause.
The goal was ambitious: to organize a soccer tournament in a short space of time, with the entry fees going to charity. After an intensive planning phase, the concept was finalized: the game was played on April 23, 2025 in the LuFun Soccerhalle in Ludwigshafen. Students and friends of the university were invited to take part - whether as a team or as individuals. On the day of the tournament, 38 participants competed against each other in six teams. Players from the BIP program, the HWG, the BDS training program and friends' groups were represented. The organizers were particularly pleased that not only trainees but also permanent employees of BASF Digital Solutions GmbH took part and thus enriched the tournament.
In the end, a donation of €305 was collected. The amount was donated in equal parts to the Sterntaler children's hospice and the Ludwigshafen animal shelter.

🔥 BBQ for Charity - A Grill Party with Purpose 🔥
As part of our MBA Project Management course, my team and I organized a fundraising event called "BBQ for Charity" - a project close to our hearts to support the local children's hospice Sternthaler.
We hosted a barbecue with 53 guests, bringing people together with good food and great company - all for a good cause. Thanks to the generosity and support of everyone who joined, we raised €330, which we proudly donated to Kinderhospiz Sternthaler.
But this project was more than just about collecting donations - it was a chance to practice real teamwork, event planning, and social responsibility in action. It reminded us how even a small event can create a meaningful impact.
Our goal was simple: show that social engagement can be fun, impactful, and accessible. And maybe even inspire others to take that first step, no matter how small.
Let's keep creating positive change - one BBQ at a time. 🌭💛
