Institute for Business Informatics


The Institute for Information Systems at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society has served as a point of contact in the field of information systems for research expertise and knowledge transfer for the regional and national economy since 2010.

Main areas of work:

  • Business Intelligence / Big Data / Analytics: Transfer projects and research projects on the processing and analysis of data in the business environment (e.g. big data, social media analytics, modeled corporate planning), in particular using SAP BW, SAP HANA, Microsoft SQL Server and open source applications such as the programming language R. In addition, international pioneering role for the use of SAP BI in the university sector.
  • Information Security Management: Transfer projects and research projects in the areas of information security management, especially security reporting, web and e-business security. In addition, support for business informatics degree programs in these areas.
  • Digital Business and Internet of Things: Transfer projects and research projects in the field of digital business and supply chain management as well as the Internet of Things (IoT) with a focus on consulting, software engineering and business process integration.
     
  • IT Service Management: Transfer projects and research projects in the field of ITIL, especially the optimal use, adaptation, improvement and role of IT Service Management.
