Prospective students

Health Economics in Practice (GiP), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.).

GiP is a dual structured study program, i.e. a combination of vocational training and university studies to choose, which could position itself as a sustainable study offer. It is aimed at  students interested in economic contexts, who place their focus on a growth industry and are looking for a practice-oriented study program with innovative companies.

The standard period of study is 7 semesters; two practical phases and an internship semester are integrated.

Further information can be found here.

Academic advising

Before taking up GiP studies, students should seek academic advice, especially on the choice of "Praxisverbund" with the study alternatives of apprenticeship or internship program or voluntary work as part of the studies, on the practical phases and on the cooperation partners. The course of studies is also discussed here and offers a "trial study day" or arranges contact with GiP students for the exchange of information and experiences.

If you are interested, please send an e-mail to kevin.knippel@hwg-lu.de or call Mr. Kevin Knippel, Management of the Health Economics program, at 0621-5203-268.

Admission Requirements:

Admission takes place annually in the winter semester; the application deadline is 15 July.

A certificate entitling the student to study at a university of applied sciences and a training, internship, or traineeship contract between the student and a cooperation partner company of the university for the training or internship phases. In exceptional cases, enrollment can also take place without an internship contract. In this case, students must sign a declaration of commitment to an employment, traineeship or internship contract with a cooperation company that has yet to be concluded. Three different GiP study models (study variants) are offered.

The application process

has a multi-level structure:

  • Contact by e-mail or telephone
  • Visit to the student advisory service
  • Application for an apprenticeship/traineeship or internship (1st phase only) with one of the cooperation partners
  • Click here for the online application

There is no NC due to the admission and application procedures. The partners send the students or decide on the allocation of internships/training places.

Application annually for the winter semester!
