Tradition rethought - BIS becomes AM

The BIS (Berufsintegrierendes Studium) Business Administration degree program at Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (HWG LU) will be developed into the "Applied Management (AM)" degree program in the winter semester 2025/2026.

The BIS degree programs have been offering a career-integrated business administration degree since 1988. This study model has proven itself over decades - now it is time for the next step in order to meet the requirements of a changing working world.

What is changing?

New name: The career-integrated degree programs BIS will become Applied Management (AM) - with a broad curriculum that continues to cover all essential areas of business administration.

New study and examination regulations (SPO): A central change concerns the admisson requirements: In future, people who only have a qualification for university entrance will also be able to study the AM degree programs - and complete their practical phase through an internship, working student activity or - as before - through a professional activity in a field related to their studies.

New curriculum: The distribution of modules has been optimized, content has been redesigned and tailored even more specifically to practical requirements.

Updated modules and content: We address current topics and offer practice-integrated, future-oriented and scientifically sound content - including artificial intelligence, sustainability and business psychology.

What remains?

A degree program that is practice-integrated, scientifically sound and future-oriented - in small groups, seminar-style, on a modern campus in Ludwigshafen. As a rule, one day of attendance per week (Tuesday or Wednesday) and online education on some Saturday mornings allow for flexible study planning.

Start in the winter semester 2025/2026
