The HWG Ludwigshafen aims to actively support its students in the competent use of artificial intelligence (AI)(KI@HWG LU). The desired development of AI skills is to be systematically anchored in studies and education through the training of AI literacy.
With the "AI Literacy Center", the departments of Studies and Education, in cooperation with the IT Service Center, support lecturers in designing, planning and implementing quality-assured courses for the training of AI literacy. The project team is currently being set up. The first services are planned for the winter semester 2025/2026.

The Department of Studies and Education advises those responsible for degree programs on the development of specific examination regulations (SPO) for their degree programs. On behalf of the Presidential Board, the department reviews the examination regulations for compliance with legal requirements. The department also coordinates the further development of university-wide examination regulations, in particular the General Examination Regulations (APO), including the English translation.
With the "Teaching/Learning Workshop", the Department of Study and Education offers modular workshop formats with which degree program directors, module coordinators and lecturers can further develop the curricula and modules of a degree program in a systematic and quality-assured manner.

The HWG Ludwigshafen continuously develops the quality of its study programs. The Departments of Studies and Education are involved in the quality assurance and development system (QA/QE) in many ways: As the responsible organizational unit in accordance with the QA/QE partial basic regulations, the department coordinates the QM system for the university's field of study and education at various levels and provides monitoring and reporting for the university as a whole. The department is also responsible for central evaluation management, which coordinates decentralized evaluation activities and implements its own evaluation measures. With the Teaching Analysis Poll (TAP) and the Learning Outcome-oriented Course Evaluation (LEVALU), the department offers all teaching staff low-threshold feedback tools on the learning success of their students and the achievement of the intended learning outcomes.
