Student ID card at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society

The student ID card ("StudiCard") will be digital from the winter semester 2024/2025. It is integrated into the campus app "HWG-LU".

In order to receive the digital student ID, the "HWG-LU App" must first be installed.

The campus app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store: "HWG-LU App" (UniNow GmbH).

Important: The payment function and library card will only be activated in the "HWG-LU App" from the summer semester 2025. For this reason, our first semester students will receive library/payment cards that can be used until then:

  • The cards will be issued during the introductions to the IT systems and afterwards at the information desk (ground floor of the A-building).
  • The cards do not need to be validated.
  • The cards are valid until the end of the winter semester 24/25 (end of February 2025).

Existing copies of the card version of the student ID "StudiCard" can continue to be used until exmatriculation. In the event of loss or defect, a new StudiCard will no longer be issued.

Please upload a passport photo of yourself for your digital student ID.

  • Time of the photo upload:

1) The photo upload can be done during online en rollment in the application portal. Uploading the passport photo is the third last step "Upload photo" in the "Apply for enrollment" process.

OR

2) Once you have enrolled, you can upload your passport photo in your personal student portal under: "My studies", "Student services", "Pictures" tab.

  • Requirements for the photo:

- Format JPG
- Width: at least 400 pixels
- Height: at least 500 pixels
- Size: max. 1 MB

The StudiCard can be topped up at rechargers in the B-building at Ernst-Boehe-Straße 4 and at the cafeteria checkouts in the B-building.

In the canteen, you can currently pay with the StudiCard and in cash.

In the library, payment is currently only possible with the StudiCard.

In addition, fees for university services such as the issuing of second certificates or certifications can be paid with the StudiCard. For this purpose, vouchers for the corresponding service are purchased at the cafeteria cash desk and in the library, which are then presented to the SSC Student Management for the desired service.

The StudiCard is only valid for the semester in which you are enrolled.

As soon as you have effectively re-registered, you must validate your StudiCard. When validating, the validity date is printed on the back of the card (28/29/02 or 31/08). This ensures that the StudiCard remains valid until the end of the semester of re-registration.

The validation machines are located at the following places:

  • A-building in Ernst-Boehe-Straße 4 - opposite the main entrance
  • B-building in Ernst-Boehe-Straße 4 - near the canteen
  • Weincampus Neustadt

Please note: In case of loss or defect, no new StudiCard will be issued.
