KNOWLEDGE
Is the Bachelor IPO an open-admission or admission-restricted program?
The IPO is an admission-restricted bachelor's degree program. This means that the number of study places is limited. Study places are allocated via NC or waiting semesters.
Allocation of study places via NC or waiting semesters
The study places are allocated 80% via NC and 20% via waiting list.
The cut-off date for the calculation of waiting periods is the date of the university entrance qualification. E.g. vocational training after the university entrance qualification counts as a waiting period. Each half year counts as one waiting semester.
Waiting semesters do not count as:
Waiting periods prior to the acquisition of the university entrance qualification. E.g. vocational training prior to the university entrance qualification does not count as a waiting period.
Two ranking lists are created, one according to NC and one according to waiting semesters. All applicants are considered in both rankings. NC ranking list: here the 1st criterion is the grade, the 2nd criterion is the waiting period. In the waiting period ranking list, the criteria are taken into account in exactly the opposite way.
The NC lists of the previous semesters can be viewed here .
Please note that due to previous application procedures, it is never possible to conclude on current ones and therefore no forecasts are possible.
Where do I apply?
The application for the Bachelor IPO takes place via the "Registration in the portal of the DoSV".
DoSV - The Dialog-Oriented Service Procedure
The application procedure of all undergraduate degree programs in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate is carried out via the so-called DoSV of the Foundation for University Admissions. The main purpose of this is to make the best possible use of the capacities of the universities so that as many applicants as possible receive a study place.
Please note that applying via the DoSV is complex, as you can apply for several study programs. Therefore, please read all information about the application on our university application pages as well as on the registration and application pages on Hochschulstart&!
