A total of 25 students of the study program "International Personnel Management and Organization" (IPO) visited the broadcasting center of the Second German Television (ZDF) on the Mainz Lerchenberg on December 13, 2019.
Dr. Christian Hofmann and IPO student Robin Hofmann again organized an inter-semester study excursion in the winter semester 2019/20. Robin Hofmann contacted ZDF and, after a personal inquiry, received an invitation to a guided tour of the ZDF broadcasting center. The Human Resources Department also agreed to prepare a technical lecture and to facilitate a personal exchange with the student group "on top".
The journey to Mainz was made together by coach. Upon arrival at the ZDF visitor center, the group of students was already awaited and warmly welcomed. The tour started with a company film and a brief overview of the site. This was followed by a tour of the broadcasting center with comprehensive insights into the control room and studios.
After the one-hour tour, the students were welcomed by the Human Resources department. A presentation prepared for the students provided a professionally interesting insight into the everyday work of HR staff. The group of students was interactively involved in the discussion about future challenges in personnel management. An open exchange, during which all the students' questions about career opportunities at ZDF were answered, rounded off a great study excursion.
