Visit of universities from the Shenyang region, PR China

In November 2019, representatives from the universities of Dalian Polytechnic University, Dalian University of Foreign Languages, Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, Shenyang Agricultural University, and Northeastern University of the People's Republic of China visited the East Asia Institute. In detailed and entertaining presentations, our students were introduced to the universities as an option for their year abroad majoring in China. The East Asia Institute already has a long-standing partnership with Dalian University of Foreign Languages. The Shenyang region in the northeast of the People's Republic was once considered the center of heavy industry in China and, like the Ruhr area, is undergoing a major transformation. The settlement of numerous German companies in the region is another factor in the desire for greater cooperation between the East Asia Institute and universities in the region in the future. Both sides have agreed to discuss a closer form of cooperation.
