Project management | Krystian Ciurkot, Prof. Dr. Kerstin Herzog (RheinMain University of Applied Sciences Wiesbaden), Prof. Dr. Andreas Rein (HWG Ludwigshafen) |
Project period | 1. 9. 2024 until 31. 8. 2025 |
Sponsorship | Caritasverband für das Bistum Aachen e.V. (in coordination with the associations' debt counseling working group) and Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society |
Description | The questions that form the starting point for the research project are the subject of a joint reflection by various actors on the question of how the shortage of specialists in social debt counseling in particular, as well as in other fields of social work in the context of poverty and precarity, can be countered. It turned out that students show less interest in topics related to poverty and over-indebtedness when choosing their specializations in social work studies. The reasons for this are still unclear. This research project therefore uses group discussions and semi-open questionnaires to investigate the motivations of social work students when choosing specialization options in their studies. |
