Are you planning to complete an integrated semester abroad during your studies? Then this is the right page for you. Here you will find the necessary information about the preparation, follow-up and recognition of your semester abroad.

The voluntary semester abroad takes place in the 5th semester of the BCO program. In order for your semester abroad to be recognized as an integrated semester abroad, you must complete some formalities before and after the semester abroad.

Before the semester abroad, you must fulfill the following minimum requirements:

• Participation in the information event Semester Abroad(usually in the 3rd semester).
• Proof of passing all module exams of the first two study semesters
• Proof of English B2
• Approval of the work to be done abroad
  • first submit incl. course descriptions and grade transcript to the department
  • after approval, submit it to the International Affairs department at the latest with the application for the semester abroad

After the semester abroad, the following formalities for recognition of the semester abroad must be completed:

• Certificate of enrollment from the foreign university
• Certification of the passed, pre-approved study achievements to the extent of 30 credits (ECTS)
• Conversion of grades from International Affairs
• at least 5 DIN-A-4-page experience report usually in English
  • no later than the 1st week of lectures of the following semester
• Questionnaire about the semester abroad
• Presentation of the semester abroad
• Application for recognition of examination achievements during the semester abroad

All documents both before and after the semester abroad have to be submitted to the department!!!
