Induction week summer semester 2024 (Monday 04.03.2024. - Friday 08.03.2024)
Dear first-year students, we look forward to welcoming you to our degree programs. To ensure you get off to a good start, you should definitely take part in the induction week.
Make sure you bring a laptop with you to the PC driving license. You will also need the laptop for other courses and examinations.
Tablets and cell phones are not suitable for this purpose.
For online lectures, participation with a camera is usual! If online examinations take place, the use of a camera is mandatory.

The date for the preliminary mathematics course for prospective freshmen: Monday, 26.02.2024, to Friday, 01.03.2024.

Good technical equipment is indispensable for studying. Due to the current situation, many lectures will take place virtually.
In the course of the studies, presentations will be created, online exams and will take place and homework will be written .
We recommend all students to get a well-functioning notebook/PC and to set up an internet connection that is as stable as possible.
Cell phones and tablets are aids, but do not replace a PC!

It is not necessary to purchase books and other literature prior to the start of the program. All lecturers inform about necessary materials in their lectures or use the e-learning platform OLAT. Lecture materials such as scripts and recommended readings are provided there.
You will receive all important information during the introduction week.
Tip: In the math exam programmable calculators are not allowed ;), so the purchase of an expensive calculator is not necessary!
Newly enrolled students also get an intensive introduction to library research during the first semester. In addition to its constantly expanding selection of books and e-books, the library has numerous professional journals in printed and electronic form, daily newspapers, and important professional databases available for use. You can find a lot of detailed information and useful tips and tricks on our pages of the library.
